The Global Sinology Forum at National Sun Yat-sen University is a digital and analog platform dedicated to collaborative research and teaching regarding Sinology (漢學), understood as an open, globally interconnected, and enduring humanist practice, one with deep connections to China’s literary-historical-philosophical (文史哲) traditions, but that long ago exceeded the boundaries of Mainland China proper, wired as it always was within regional and global currents. Working from the southern Taiwanese port city of Kaoshiung, this platform seeks to bring colleagues and students together to study the rich assemblage of philosophical, linguistic, literary, social, and political filaments that make up the Sino-past, as well as their complex modern fate. Through our scholarship, we seek to enact a future defined by mutual co-existence, indeed mutual transformation, across cultures, economies, nations, and environments.
